Scholarship Opportunity in the United States
2008 Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP)
Zagreb, August 23, 2007 - The Institute for the Development of Education, on behalf of American Councils for International Education, and in collaboration with the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb, is pleased to announce the opening of the application period for the Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP), a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State.
The JFDP provides university lecturers and administrators with a semester-long opportunity to expand their knowledge and expertise in their academic fields by attending classes and working with faculty members at universities in the United States. Individuals may apply for scholarships in the humanities and social sciences. Scholarship recipients will depart for the United States in January 2008 and return to Croatia in May 2008.
The scholarship includes payment of academic fees, a monthly stipend for living expenses for one person, allowances for purchasing materials and attending professional conferences, medical insurance, and round-trip air fare.
