USS Saipan (LHA-2) Visits Croatia

Zagreb, Croatia, July 11, 2005 - The U.S. Tarawa Class, Amphibious Assault ship USS Saipan (LHA-2) will arrive in Split on the 12 of July at the start of a three-day liberty port visit. The ship will be part of the Adriatic Engagement Exercise 05.
While in port, crewmembers will have an opportunity to visit the cultural and historical sights of Split, and to meet Croatian citizens.
The USS Saipan has approximately 1200 crewmembers, and is commanded by Captain (Kapetan Bojnog Brod) R. D. Fitzpatrick.
