Scholarship Opportunity in the United States - 2006 Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP)

Zagreb, 25 July 2005 -- The Student Information Center, on behalf of American Councils for International Education, and in collaboration with the Public Affairs Section, U.S. Embassy- Zagreb, is pleased to announce the opening of the application period for the Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP), a program of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

The JFDP provides university lecturers and administrators with a semester-long opportunity to expand their knowledge and expertise in their academic field by attending classes and working with faculty members at universities in the United States. Individuals may apply for fields in the humanities and social sciences. Finalists will depart for the United States in early 2006.

The JFDP will provide for payment of academic fees, a monthly stipend for living expenses adequate to support one person, professional development money to purchase materials and attend professional conferences, medical insurance, and round-trip air fare from home city to host university.
