Croatia and U.S. Military Bilateral Seminar

For Immediate Release
December 20, 2005

Zagreb, Croatia, December 20, 2005 -- The Croatian Armed Forces last week hosted a team of military communications experts from the United States Air Force. The U.S. team conducted a seminar about communications equipment they use for deployments. Part of the ongoing cooperation has been sharing information about the equipment and how it may be used in temporary locations. The seminar was held December 13th thru the 15th at the Croatian Army barracks in Samobor.

One of the many important items in the modern military is the ability to work in a multinational environment. Familiarization with how other militaries set up and operate their communications is vital to Croatia's ability to work in a multinational task force.

The seminar was sponsored by the U.S. Government through the Bilateral Affairs Office of the U.S. Office of Defense Cooperation, which coordinates with the Croatian Ministry of Defense to provide familiarization seminars on a variety of subjects. Topics for the seminars were based on the needs of the Croatian Armed Forces, Air Force and Navy. Croatia and U.S. Military Bilateral Seminar, issued on December 20, 2005
