U.S. EMBASSY ORGANIZES DAY OF SERVICE

As a means of commemorating the tragic events of September 11, President Obama has encouraged the American people to reach out to others and foster understanding and collaboration through service. To help fulfill the President’s vision, U.S. Embassies worldwide have been organizing days of service in September and October to promote cooperation and shared interests. On October 16, embassy employees and students from the American International School of Zagreb will visit the elementary school in Orehovica, a school with almost 50 percent Roma students. Working with our partners at the school, we will participate in cultural, community service and sports events. Students from the school will make a presentation to the group and everyone will work together on a painting project and participate in sports.
