NATO MILITARY LEADER PRESS AVAILABILITY - DUBROVNIK, CROATIA

Zagreb, May 8, 2007 -- Lt. Gen. Slavko Baric, deputy chief of Defense (DCHOD), Croatia and Lt. Gen. H Steven Blum, Chief, National Guard Bureau, USA will be available for news correspondents at 11:00 a.m, Thursday, May 10 2007 at the Hilton Hotel in Dubrovnik, Croatia at the conclusion of a National Guard State Partnership Program (SPP) Regional Workshop.

The workshop is a regional effort to identify the most effective ways SPP can contribute to building and maintaining military capabilities to meet NATO standards and participate in NATO-led operations; define the SPP's most productive approaches to strengthening capabilities for military support to civil authorities, including border security and port security activities; and, to assess the effectiveness of SPP's civilian-to-civilian activities, including business, education, medical, science and legal exchanges.

Also expected to attend are these senior military representatives from the Ministries of Defense of participating nations and the U.S adjutants general (TAG) of their partner states.
