DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY DICARLO ATTENDS "ADRIATIC-BALTIC-ATLANTIC"

MEETING OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND DEFENSE MINISTERS
Zagreb, October 11, 2007 -- Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Rosemary DiCarlo will visit Croatia to attend a meeting of the foreign and defense ministers of the Adriatic Charter states -- Albania, Croatia, and Macedonia -- and the three Baltic countries -- Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania -- in Split October 12-13.  The meeting, intended as an opportunity to share experiences in preparing for NATO membership in advance of the NATO summit in Bucharest, will also include representatives from the new “Partnership for Peace” countries - Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia.  While in Croatia, Deputy Assistant Secretary DiCarlo plans to hold bilateral meetings with key Croatian officials and will also hold bilateral meetings with representatives of the other countries of the Adriatic Charter and the Partnership for Peace.
