Sarajevo Attack

The U.S. Embassy confirms that on October 28, 2011 at 3:45 p.m. several rounds of gunfire were fired on the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.  The gunman was wounded by the Bosnian police and other possible accomplices were arrested.  At this time, the reason behind the attack is still unknown.

U.S. citizens in Croatia are, therefore, urged to heighten their awareness and maintain a low profile.  U.S. citizens should use caution, watch for any suspicious or unusual activity and remain aware of their surroundings.  The U.S. Embassy strongly encourages Americans to stay alert and monitor local media reports as well as take appropriate steps to bolster their personal security.
